Annual Incline Pickleball Open Tournament

The annual Incline Open Pickleball Tournament at the spectacular Incline Village Tennis & Pickleball Center is one not to miss! This is a great tournament for "first timers" as there is no USAPA association membership required. We will have Men's, Women's, and Mixed Doubles divisions for levels 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, and 5.0.

  • Dates: August 17 - 18, 2024 (UPDATED DATES! 2 days only.)
  • Location: Incline Village Tennis and Pickleball Center (964 Incline Way, Incline Village, NV)
  • Levels: 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0 (some levels may be merged based on the number of entries)

Fees

  • Tournament Registration Fee: $49 (40% discount w/IVGID Recreation Pass. Must contact pro shop prior to registration to access IVGID rate.)
  • Event Fee: $30 per event

Division Start Times

 All start times are subject to change and events might be merged or split based on event registration.

  • Saturday, August 17 at 7am/7:30am: Women's Doubles all levels
  • Saturday, August 17 at 1pm: Men's Doubles all levels
  • Sunday, August 18 at 7am/7:30am: Mixed Doubles 3.0 level
  • Sunday, August 18 at 1pm: Mixed Doubles 3.5, 4.0, 4.5+ levels

Please ensure you arrive at the Tennis & Pickleball Center with plenty of time before your division start time to check in, find your partner, get warmed up and make it to your court on time. Each division will play all matches on the same day. Courts are available for warm-up one hour prior to the start of the event. Noise ordinances prevent staff from blowing off the courts prior to 7am. Warm-up will be interrupted as staff prepares the courts for play.

Players meeting: 10 minutes prior to the start of play

Late Arrivals: Match schedules are subject to change based on withdrawals. If you have a first round bye plan on being at the court for the beginning of the event in case there is a scheduling change. Players arriving more than 5 minutes after the start of the division will forfeit the first match. Players arriving after the 2nd match has started will be withdrawn from the tournament.

Match Schedule

Draw will be posted on the registration site a few days before the tournament. 

Format

  • All brackets are in a Round Robin format. Match start times listed in the draws other than the first match are approximate and may be called earlier at the discretion of the committee.
  • Top 4 teams from the division/pool advance to medal play.
  • Gold Medal matches are 2 out of 3 to 11 points win by two.
  • Playoffs will be determined based on the total win and loss record within your division/pool.
  • Ties will be broken by head to head record and/or total number of points. 
  • Teams will be allowed a warm-up prior to the first match. Players should arrive on time or they give up their right to warm-up.
  • USAPA rules of play apply, including drop and let serves.
  • Only the Gold Medal Match will have a referee.
  • There will not be line judges for any match. Players in all matches will be responsible for calling lines in accordance with USA Pickleball Rules.

Women’s Doubles

  • 4.5+ is one game to 11 win by 1. Play each team twice. Switch sides when the first team reaches 6.
  • 4.0 is one game to 11 win by 1. Play each team twice. Switch sides when the first team reaches 6.
  • 3.5 one game to 11 win by 1. Switch sides when the first team reaches 6.
  • 3.0 one game to 11 win by 1. Switch sides when the first team reaches 6.

Men’s Doubles

  • 5.0 is one game to 15 win by 1. Play each team twice. Switch sides when the first team reaches 8.
  • 4.5 is one game to 15 win by 1. Play each team twice. Switch sides when the first team reaches 8.
  • 4.0 is one game to 11 win by 1.Switch sides when the first team reaches 6.
  • 3.5 one game to 11 win by 1. Switch sides when the first team reaches 6.
  • 3.0 one game to 11 win by 1. Switch sides when the first team reaches 6.

Mixed Doubles

  • 4.5+ is one game to 15 win by 1. Play each team twice. Switch sides when the first team reaches 8.
  • 4.0 is one game to 15 win by 1. Play each team twice. Switch sides when the first team reaches 8.
  • 3.5 one game to 11 win by 1. Switch sides when the first team reaches 6.
  • 3.0 one game to 11 win by 1. Switch sides when the first team reaches 8.

Sandbagging | Out Of One's League

It is the athlete's responsibility to register for a division that suits his or her skill level. It is the tournament responsibility to facilitate competitive divisions if at all possible. The tournament shall have the authority to change an athlete's or team's registered division for the betterment of the tournament.

Cancelations

All entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you must withdraw, please let us know by August 11 at 5pm PST so we can fill your spot.

Registration Refusal

If Incline Village Tennis and Pickleball Center identifies an athlete that violates our good sportsman Code of Conduct, IVTPC reserves the right to refuse registration and or remove an athlete from the event in progress.

Parking

There is some parking at the Tennis and Pickleball Center but the primary lot is the back of the Incline Village Recreation Center adjacent to the Tennis and Pickleball Center.

What to Bring

For those that never been to the Incline Village Tennis & Pickleball Center, the court complex is above the main building. There is some space for lawn chairs but please do not bring canopies. There is plenty of shade around the courts.

Food, Snacks, Drinks

There will be water, and some snacks throughout both days. There are drinks and additional snacks available for purchase in the Pro Shop.

Weather

Tahoe is famous for beautiful summer weather. But just in case we may need to make adjustments to times and formats if the weather impacts setup and/or play. Our plan is to do everything we can to play, and cancellation will be our last resort with first consideration being safety of everyone involved. We will do our best to communicate changes as soon as we can.

Miscellaneous

  • Only participants, water bottles and towels, will be allowed on the courts. Bags must be hung on racks outside of the court.
  • Diadem (neon green outdoor) is the tournament ball.
  • Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded each day for completed events.
